Thai Airlines Ground Staff Poor Service Lapse
Totally unacceptable service! Took them 2 months to reply my feedback via customer@thaiairways.com - i had to send various reminder letter to chase them for a courtesy reply. I have been travelling to Bkk frequently many times with various full cost carrier like TG CX SQ. As I usually checked in my durian purchases in my cargo bag with no issues. This trip back to Singapore I decided to carry on board and asked the ground crew if it's allowed . The ground insists the policy against durian even if checked in. I was being honest to inform the crew .I could have done it the usual way to put into my check in cargo luggage wrapped in cling wrap. I never had any issue with the complain or smell or rejected luggage. The crew did not allow so I had to finish my 800 bhat worth of durian I bought from super market which I didn't and had to dispose them, this caused my stomach to be bloated as i just had lunch before checkout of hotel. If TG is so strict with no durian policy, why wasnt I informed when I check out from hotel Glow pratumun? It's not a budget hotel and I expect staff to inform me whenI checked out holding the bag of durian in my hand . As the hotel staff helped me get a taxi to inform the taxi rate again I wasn't told about the durian policy when I mentioned my flight with TG. I asked for feedback e-mail from another ground staff who was referred as manager. On my way into Bkk my luggage wheels were damaged and I received a note for repair back when I return to Singapore. I asked the manager to help me inform Singapore office to get ready for my case when arrive. To my disappointment she didn't understand, made me wait for another 20 miinutes and gave me singapore office contact number whiand gave me singapore office contact number which I already had on my repair receipt. Such poor communication is unacceptable and I begin to wonder if TG standards have dropped over the years . The reply from Thai Airways after chasing them for 2 months reply was according to the IATA Conditions of Carriage, the passenger shall not include in checked baggage fragile or perishable items , money, jewelry, precious metals silverware, negotiable papers,securities or other valuables, business documents, passports and other identification documents of samples. Carrier may refuse to carry as baggage any item because of its size, shape, weight or character. Furthermore , some perishable items with strong smell such as durian would not allowed to carry in hand carry due the smell may disturb other passengers during on the flight. Totally unacceptable for the poor service lapse!!!
